Professor Yumi Kōda (幸田由美先生, Kōda Yumi-sensei) is the supervising instructor and senior professor at the art institute that Hagumi Hanamoto attends. As an artist, she struggled to become a painter who would be recognized in Paris, but she was ultimately unsuccessful. As a result, she does not want Hagu's talents to fall into obscurity and wants Hagu to develop as an artist by experiencing difficult cultures.
